ABSTRACT

Amino acids (AA) are the most basic units of protein which plays important role in animal physiology. They are classified into 2 types viz. essential and non-essential. Protected amino acids leads to increased absorbable amino acids per unit of absorbable energy. Rumen synthesizes most of the AA passing to the small intestine. In high producing animals microbial CP is not sufficient and rumen protected AAs are needed to improve utilization efficiency of other non-essential amino acids to optimize their production potential.
