The Indian Food Processing Industry is growing on a very rapid space as also the packaging sector. As a result we are producing a lot of packaging waste which needs to be managed efficiently. In the current scenario, packaging waste recycling and management is done in an unorganized manner. Different strategies like landfill, reduced reuse and recycle, incineration and burning are discussed with reference to the assessment based on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
