Paneer is a staple in Indian diets but its adulteration is becoming serious concern. With rising demand and market pressure, paneer is increasingly being mixed with cheaper and sometimes harmful substances such as starch, vegetable oils, and synthetic ingredients. These practices not only reduce its nutritional value but also raise serious food safety concerns. Detecting such adulteration is not easy, making the problem harder to control. This article highlights the extent of the issue, why it matters, and how science and better monitoring can help ensure that the paneer reaching consumers is safe, genuine, and trustworthy. It also emphasizes the importance of consumer awareness, encouraging people to make informed choices and remain cautious about the quality of paneer they purchase.
