ABSTRACT

Feed being the critical component of cost of milk production, farmers should be facilitated by development agencies to feed their high yielding dairy animals prudently. Since, commercial dairy farming is in the upward trend, the proper understanding of feeding strategies and their diligent adoption will ensure economic and ecological sustainability of dairy farming. This requires not only sound extension approach, but also dynamic policy support in availability of quality feeds to the farmers rearing high yielding milch animals.
