ABSTRACT

Dietary fat and protein are essential nutrients in animal feeding, especially for high-yielding animals as they require a continuous influx of energy and protein for production. Feeding rumen-protected or bypass nutrients are essential to prevent extensive microbial degradation and transit intact to the small intestine where they are absorbed and utilized more efficiently. The application of bypass technology has shown dramatic improvements in dairy animal production in terms of quantity and quality.
