ABSTRACT

Camel is considered as "ship of the desert" due to its climate resilient properties and adaptive features, specifically living in arid and semiarid regions; thus, surviving in this era of climate change and global warming. The camel is a multipurpose animal having varying products and services viz., milk, meat, skin, hair/wool fibers, manure, transportation activities and culture aspects. The conservation efforts by governmental and nongovernmental organizations are required to save this animal and to promote the traditional communities and research centers engaged in camel breeding and rearing.
