ABSTRACT

Antibiotics create problem by killing both good and bad bacteria. Transfaunation referred to as transferring microorganism from healthy rumen to sick recipient in order to treat indigestion, displaced abomasum in bovines. It is an effective method to treat indigestion, recovery in surgical cases and micro-biome imbalance. Cud transfer or rumen liquor induces mechanical stimulation through tension receptors to stimulate rumination, salivation and motility. Fistulated cows are very good source of rumen material for sick cow. Method of transfunation includes collection of healthy rumen fluid, screening-examination and transferring into sick animals.
