ABSTRACT

Milk is a complete food and is a part of diet of every household. Nowadays, microplastics are emerging as a new potential threat and have been reported to be present almost everywhere including body tissues and foods etc. Presence of microplastics in different food products raises concern and demands proper checking of their contamination in milk and milk products as well. In order to ensure the safety of milk and milk products for general public, it is essential to address this issue by prevention of contamination throughout supply chain and by necessary scientific interventions like development of appropriate analytical methods and formulation of regulatory standards.
