ABSTRACT

The transition period (3 weeks before and after parturition respectively) for dairy cows is a complex process influenced by various factors. The main goal of nutritional and management interventions is to maintain and improve immunological function, reduce body fat mobilization, maintain blood calcium levels, and maximize the cow's appetite. Transition cows' health and reproductive performance are linked to lactation performance, postpartum illnesses, and reproductive success, which can significantly impact profitability. Adopting recommended management approaches during this transition period is crucial for enhancing the income of the farmers by optimizing production and reproduction in dairy cows.
