ABSTRACT

Tick Infestation causes great economic losses to livestock and adversely affect livestock hosts in several ways. Loss of blood is a direct effect of ticks acting as potential vectors for hemoprotozoa and helminth parasites. Blood sucking by large numbers of ticks causes a reduction in live weight and anaemia among domestic animals, while their bites also reduce the quality of hides. A successful demonstration of indigenous herbal medications would certainly ensure costeffective health care. Stakeholders of veterinary services, like veterinary officers and para veterinary staff, need to be sensitized to the usefulness of technology. Farmers could appreciate the effectiveness of this polyherbal medication that can be prepared at their farm and reduce the tick worry on their animals.
