ABSTRACT

Climate change is one of the most pressing concerns across the globe. United Nations is also addressing this issue through the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) -13: “Climate Action”. Climate Change is said to have direct and indirect effects on dairy farming. Direct effects include decline in productive and reproductive performance and incidence of diseases while indirect effects include decline in fodder and water availability. Thus, focusing on climate smart practices is the need of the hour. Climate smart dairying can be practiced through modification of physical environment, genetic approach and improved nutritional management.
