ABSTRACT

It is important to consider that lameness in dairy animals is a major health issue that causes tremendous economic loss to our dairy industry. Among the causes of lameness hoof disorders are the leading cause and it becomes more complicated when management related to heat stress, housing and nutrition are poor. Through better management strategies related to hoof, floor, feeding, environment etc. the incidences of lameness can be reduced and losses can be overcome.
