ABSTRACT

Dairy industry will have to face the surplus situations especially during the flush seasons. This can be addressed effectively as India has huge potential to export indigenously produced dairy products to Asian and other countries. Most of the dairy plants do have facilities for processing and packaging of milk and milk products. This benefits the dairy plant in terms of high liquidity of cash together with the advantage of better shelf life and value-added products. Such milk plants are more viable and sustainable. Today, the carbon footprint of a glass of milk is two-thirds less than a glass of milk 70 years ago.
