ABSTRACT

Prices of most dairy products on the international market suffered from the drastic combined effects of increased output and slower demand in 2014, 2015, and early 2016, deteriorating significantly. The dairy world is slowly recovering from a difficult period. A protracted 2.5 year dairy crisis caused a significant and unprecedented drop in production in many regions. Dairy prices hit rock bottom in the spring/summer of 2016. The milk output reduction that followed this period then translated into a market upturn which has lasted until well into 2017.
