Standard operating procedures (SOPs) are scientifically designed set of instructions for complicated/complex operations that improves the overall profitability by improving efficiency, quality and quantity of output. In dairy farms scientific instructions can be set up for providing required balanced feed and fodder to farm animals, cleaning and disinfection of sheds, milking (machine milking and hand milking), artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis, health management, microclimate management, fodder production and record making and evaluation. With continuous improvement in literacy rate and internet revolution, now people in India are more quality conscious and therefore importance of SOPs becomes crucial.
