ABSTRACT

The therapeutic properties of camel milk can be elucidated due to the presence of protective bioactive proteins, which play a significant role in improving immune defense mechanism. FSSAI has recently introduced new standards for its milk fat and MSNF contents which are minimum 2.0% and 6.0%, respectively. No other animal other than camel offers such a versatile use to humans. Various government and private institutions should therefore come forward and make sincere efforts to enhance the camel population in India.
