ABSTRACT

In recent times use of robotics in dairy industry had increased significantly, however its usage had not touched zenith as in automobile sector. Since robotics had become cost effective and smarter, it may be feasible to carry out repetitive tasks in dairy industry proficiently. The traditional Indian dairy industry is mainly characterised by small batches of production where packaging is mainly accomplished manually resulting in wastage, poor hygiene and injuries. Automated packaging of traditional dairy foods would reduce these issues with enhanced production capacity and efficiency. This review article mainly encompasses basic components of robot, their types, potential and future applications of robotics in packaging of traditional Indian dairy foods.
